In Barcelona again for another round of training and updates on the use of Silhoutte Soft sutures. It was again an interesting 2 day session with over 100 Drs from all over the world. New techniques included for brow lifting, mid face lifting and especially for lower face to define the jawline. New techniques for neck lifting, nasal flare reduction, breast lifting, buttocks lifting and reduction of the upper arm flabbiness. The new 16 cone sutures with 8 cones on each side instead of 4 was also introduced. This allows for less threads or sutures to be used for the same effect due to a stronger and better 'hold' of the skin , thus a better "lifting" effect. I tried it out upon my return and lo and behold , the hold is better and a more profound lifting is seen. What's best is I am able to achieve the same results with less no of sutures allowing for better affordability to patients.

Was in a Seoul Korea again in January 2015.  The weather was cold and days were short but we had a fun time exploring and a fruitful training session in conducting the very new, and very effective threadlift called the MINT lift. This technique uses thicker PDO threads with barbs or cox that can hold the skin up better and longer.  The training was conducted at the Euro Clinic,a classy and upmarket type of plastic surgical centre in the heart of Gangnam area. The owner and founder , DrChoi  is a well known plastic surgeon who currently is the biggest conducter of MINT Lift since it was first introduced just 6months ago. I had a full hands on under his guidance. Another Korean aesthetic surgeon was in town last Sunday for a workshop on using those fine Korean threads to shape the lower face. Combined with Dermotoxins, the effect was predictable and quite nice. I was also very interested in the threads with "cox" or "barbs" which are actually little protrusions along the length of the threads to create a stronger hold into the skin.  Although it causesmore swelling and potentially more possibility of a bruise occurring, the " lift"  effect is much better and shaping the lower face into a more defined "V".
