HOW TO AVOID BAD RESULTS WITH FILLERS

“What’s happened to Charlotte’s face!?”

If you’ve been on Twitter or Reddit recently, you’ve probably come across lots of comments like that...

It’s a reference to the character Charlotte in Sex and the City. The series, which became a cultural icon 20 years ago, recently rebooted as “And Just Like That...”

And while all the characters have aged, Charlotte looked more different than the others...

Her face was much broader, her lips were strangely flat and her cheeks are unusually full.

The actress, Kristin Davis, didn’t look quite like herself any more.

Initially, commentators wondered whether she’d had plastic surgery.

But it seems much more likely that she’s had dermal fillers - done badly.

I know that this kind of “unnatural” result is a great concern for many including my clients too.

Fillers are there to help ‘plump up’ areas of the face which have lost volume with age, ‘fill in’ fine lines and wrinkle and give more definition to some of the facial features like the cheeks, lip and jawline.

They’re a key tool to help one look and feel one's best, not to look overfilled or have anyone notice a procedure had been done!

So how can we avoid a result like Charlotte’s?

First, it’s important to understand what must have happened. It’s likely that an over-zealous or inexperienced injector simply used too much product when treating her.

In reality, not much filler is needed to make a great deal of difference to one's appearance. The rule of thumb is that 1ml is injected per decade of your life. So if someone is in his/her 40s, 4ml will typically be used. That may sound like a lot but it’s actually a tiny amount - less than a teaspoon across the whole face!

Unfortunately, some injectors go overboard, especially if they don’t know what they’re doing. There are lots of people injecting fillers with less than a day of training. (unfortunately). Other times, patients are asked to come in for treatment far too often, leading to a build-up of product.

So first, it is important not to cut any corners. One must go to an injector who is experienced, well-trained and who has a reputation for producing natural results.

A medical background, rather then as a beautician is always preferable.

Our clinics have most experienced Drs as well junior but properly trained and certified Dr to do injections. I myself has over 20years experience injectables, not in just in techniques but also in types of material used.

And we follow a specific protocol to make sure we never over-treat our clients.

In your first appointment with us, we’ll always inject the minimum amount of fillers you need.

The results may not be perfect the first round, but then we’ll ask you to come back after weeks, once the fillers have had a chance to settle, so we can judge how much more product you need to get a look you’ll really love... and which will still look completely natural.

Once we know that, it’s easier to maintain the right level in periodic visits, perhaps once ever 3-4 months. (Not more.)

We find that patients really appreciate this “slowly slowly” approach, because it enormously reduces the risk of looking over-filled or unnatural.

So if that’s the kind of responsible approach you, too, would like, why not book a consultation with us.

We can discuss whether you need fillers - if not, or if there’s a better option for you, we’ll tell you! We’ll also answer all your questions and talk about the difference it might make for you.

Then you can make up your mind about whether or not to go forward, without any pressure.

"Just Like That"

Warmly

PS. Here’s an example of the kinds of natural-looking, beautiful results we get our clients

Take a look at these recent before-and-afters:

You can see the difference to the corners of the lip where it is no longer downturned , the mid face cheeks are lifted and client looks fresher and "happier"

This clients lips are plumper(fuller) , her nasolabial folds (smile liens) are reduced and her face look more balanced then before. She looks naturally youthful and fresher.

And doesn’t it look natural - you’d never know she’d had a treatment!

To discuss how we can help you too, ring our office on 1300-88-1788 or 0123453779 or email me right back. I'm looking forward to helping you!

Laser Vagina Rejuvenation

Our V2LR laser handpiece is finally here. Had a revision session with Prof Zerbinatti in the clinic on 3rd Jan. Imagine, for those of us who wish to "rejuvenate" ourselves can do so now with ease and painlessly. Just make an appointment with the clinic, come in 30min earlier so a topical numbing cream can be applied, and have the procedure conducted and completed in 1/2 hr,tops. What will you get ? Well, internally the lasering will "puff"up the mucosa of the vaginal wall by collagen remodeling, as well as improve sensations. Externally the procedure can lighten the skin color, increase sensitivity as well tighten surrounding area. ALl these in just 3 sessions! Prof Zerbinatti claims that in his clinic this is currently the most popular procedure among women in their 30s and 40s. I am very excited about this procedure. I know a lot of women out there do not have any problems, and therefore do not require any surgical LVR but would like to just improve. Like everyhti...

SIGNS YOU SHOULD AVOID AN INJECTOR

Recently, I was browsing through some of my favorite Facebook groups for aesthetic providers a nd I noticed something alarming. There was a glut of posts from inexperienced injectors, asking for advice on how to get best results with dermal   fillers. They weren’t sure whether common situations were normal  and were even asking for advice on complications. For example, one injector was concerned that her patient was experiencing swelling in her lip immediately after her appointment:   She didn’t have enough experience to know whether or not something had gone wrong. Or take this injector, who wasn’t sure whether the redness in her patient was normal:   The answer is “probably yes”, but a more experienced provider could have achieved much gentler results with a cannula and know if there's something more serious like a blood vessel compression has occured.  A lso looks like she missed the right injection point a few times, which is not gre...

10 Rules of Aging Well

Getting older is inevitable (and certainly better than the alternative). While you can’t control your age, you can slow the decline of aging with smart choices along the way. From the foods you eat and how you exercise to your friendships and retirement goals — it all has an effect on how fast or slow your body ages.  Keep reading for simple ways to keep your body tuned up and your mind tuned in. And the good news is that it’s never too late to get started. 1. Eliminate Self Destructive Behaviors This is the first step in preventing disease and meeting your later years with vitality and good health and it almost goes without saying – almost. The health toll of destructive behaviors such as smoking and excess drinking do not necessarily manifest for many years, thus discouraging motivation to stop.  It’s natural to forgo making changes when the results are seemingly intangible or minimal at best. Smokers, of course, often report almost immediate improvements in breathing, sleep...
